Creativity is the developmental benefits from doing crafts in the classroom. Students decide on how to make their craft. I saw this idea on Pinterest to use egg carton to craft a sea scene. Thought that the already done emotions worksheets (happy, sad,angry) would work instead of printing out more cutouts for this activity. This is how mine turned out.

Have the students identify the numbers,colors and the emotions.

Teacher: How many crabs are there?

Students: two!

Teacher: What color are the crabs?

Students: red!

Teacher:  are they happy or sad?

Students: happy!

Create a Four Seasons Class Book

Students can color as a group, bind and take turns to take home and read with parents.

Four Seasons Craft Activities

Seasons Unit Craft to develop the artist side. Students get to express themselves using their bilateral coordination.Let them use any craft supplies where they want and decorate their trees in any way they feel like. There will be purposeful listening when you give them instructions.

Students will decorate the top of the tree and trunk will be toilet paper rolls that you will cut two slits to insert the treetop. Nothing better than developing your student's fine motor skills such as coloring or painting.

Place the Seasons flashcards on a table and have the students come and place their trees where they belong.

Celebrate Learning with Seasons Awards

 Use the positive reinforcement customized for the Seasons Unit. Praise your student's language proficiency.Give out the leaf reward after each class when your student accomplishes a specific behavior or goal. Make sure that your student understands why you are handing in the leaf as a reward.

There is a set of big leaves and another one with smaller leaves. Use the one that suits your class.

Use the small leaves like stickers. Students can glue one onto completed work or into their English notebooks. 

Classroom reward tree: Make a large tree for your bulletin board. Each time a student earns a reward, add one of the small leaves to the tree. You could write the student's name on the back or beside the leaf.

This is a fun and easy Preschool art activity.  The best thing about doing crafts is to see the students expressing themselves freely with confidence. They enjoy getting the craft ready to show it off. The hat is easy to color and assemble.

Circus Unit Reward Tickets

Use these Circus Unit reward tickets to encourage positive behavior, participation, effort, and good work throughout the unit. Choose a reward you know your students will enjoy and write it on the blank space before handing them their ticket. Rewards can be simple classroom privileges, such as choosing the next game, being the teacher’s helper, picking a song, or going first in an activity.

You can also hand out the tickets after students play one of the Circus Unit games. Give a ticket to the winner, to members of a winning team, or simply to students who showed great participation and teamwork. It is an easy and fun way to connect positive reinforcement with the circus theme and keep young EFL learners motivated!

Printable Zoo Animal Books for Reading Practice

Plan enjoyable experiences to do in class.The books can be read more than once in class, at home or within a group until they become a reader. Students will go over listening comprehension. Ask them to listen for details as they identify and describe the vehicles.

I made two books this time, one is zoo animals in jeeps and another one is zoo animals in race cards.

This book has a worksheet to complete the activity and even more by turning each jeep into a puppet to read the book. Puppets are useful for speaking, students usually make an effort to say the sentences because they feel more confident using the puppet. Just cut and glue the zoo animal to a craft stick.

Giraffe Goes to School Printable Book

Another book featuring a giraffe that goes to school. There is a colored version that you can print and read in class or use it as a pdf that you can read on a tablet to your class.

I made a black and white version to make a class book in which each student will color a page of the book. They can also color the sight word such as giraffe, school, the. Send book home for the students to read with their parents.

Zoo Animals Headband Craft Activity

This is an enjoyable activity for your students. Crafts are tied to creativity. Make these cute Headbands. During the activity students can listen to commands for creating the headband, such as cut, color and more. The students have to use their imagination and creativity along with their fine motor skills to create their masterpiece.

Zoo Animal Reward System for ESL Motivation

Zoo Animals Unit Rewards help booster confidence in learning English. The motivation is important for keeping students on task. Start your reward system.Recognize your student's work on that day. It can be a recognition to the winners of any the games or the completion of the worksheet. Students that are shy in class and participated that day, give him/her a reward for their bag. It can also be a bag for the table. At the end of the unit count how many rewards each student or group got and plan what they will get, such as a longer recess, a candy, anything works.

Glue the zoo animals cutouts onto small plastic ziplock kind of bags.

You can use anything to receive as a rewards, either bottle caps, zoo animal cutouts, peanuts for the elephant, whatever your imagination comes up with. And remember to say why they won a piece to the put in the reward bag and then count to the amount of pieces they won to a bigger prize that you have in mind.

Another way to do it is using lunch bags. All the templates have easy to cut dotted lines. You can either open the mouth or not. It depends on what is easy for you. Glue the templates onto the lunch bags and cut the excess from the top of the bag. I used fun foam stars that I had as rewards for the students.

 It’s a printable booklet looking to make your students better learners in the future. The repetition of the oral language is fundamental in  this unit. You can make as many copies as you want, the booklet can be completed individually or in small groups. Send the book home for the students to read with their parents.

Students just cut and paste the farm animals where they belong besides tracing the sentences.

Read and read aloud with your students as often as you can so they can read in English in the future.

 Farm Unit Crafts

 For this unit let’s make headbands for many role play activities. This kind of artistic and creative work does help with natural communication. Students have to listen to instructions in English, ask questions about teh craft and interact with their peers.It is a more eyes on craft instead of eyes on the tablet. The listening skill is used when students are given directions, feedback and praise as they create their own headband.

Farm Animals Reward

 There are two kinds of rewards for your Kindergarden students. One is to be used as a classroom reward. Place your Reward Printable in a place in the classroom that everyone can see it. Show them all the animals and tell your students that for every class there will be an animal added to the farm as a reward to the class for either their best behavior or participation or any other thing that you would like to motivate. Once all the five animals are on the farm the class will receive a prize. That you will have to choose such as a longer recess.

Give students one farm animal at a time to add to their farm scene. As they earn more animals, they can watch their little farm grow!

Always tell students why they earned each animal. This makes the reward more meaningful and helps them understand which behaviors and learning habits you want to encourage. For example, you might say, “This cow is for you because you did a lot of speaking during our game!” or “You earned a chicken because you answered so many questions in English today!”

The black-and-white printable can also be used as an individual reward. Students can color their own farm scene and gradually add the animals they earn. It is a simple way to celebrate speaking English, participating in games, completing activities, helping classmates, listening carefully, or trying their best throughout the Farm Unit.

By the end of the unit, students will have a completed farm that represents all their wonderful effort and participation!
