Christmas Houses for Kindergarten ESOL

Some Christmas Houses to celebrate the Holiday!

First, the Flashcards to introduce Christmas new Vocabulary.

There is a set of worksheet of Christmas houses to do a listen and color activity for the parts of the house.

There is also a set of cutouts for more activities. Have the students match the Christmas cutouts items to the ones that are on their house as they name them.

Older students can label the parts of the house and the Christmas items.


With the cutouts you can have the students match the items on the houses. They all come with doted lines.


Or have the students go further and have them label the parts of the Christmas house.

Halloween houses for Kindergarten EFL

Print the Halloween-themed words that you want to teach. Introduce the words verbally as you show each flashcard.
Teacher: It’s a Haunted house! Show me the door! Show me the windows!
Look at the house. How many windows are there?
Students: two!

Play scavenger hunt in the classroom. Hide the flashcards and have the students walk and find them. When a student finds a card, they have to say the Halloween word. The student that finds the most cards wins.

Halloween houses worksheets to do as a listen and color activity for the parts of the house. It will enhance listening and comprehension skills. Or, students can color as they want and then do a show and tell to describe their house.Have the stduents notice that there are different kind of Halloween houses to choose from.

Use different materials for your students to add on each house to decorate each one with their creativity. I glued yarn on this house.

Or use pompoms!

Let’s do more! Students can cut the house out of the worksheet and glue onto a toilet paper tube and create a Halloween scene with all the Halloween haunted houses. Use the Halloween characters to add up to the Halloween scene. Play as students place each item as you say.

 The finger puppet is a new idea that I tried. I found an old glove and cut the fingertips and glued the family members templates. Turned out easy to make. Students can express ownership and the family relationship using the pronoun my.

Routine Verbs worksheets for Kindergarten ELL

Routine Verbs worksheets. These are for further practice of key language.It is great to have a variety of worksheets available for the diversity of students that you might have in class.The worksheets can help develop language skills.

There is always a set of vocabulary worksheets that can be turned into small flashcards for the students to play many games or to use as a vocabulary reference. Students should be able to identify and name the actions. There is also an opportunity for writing by tracing the new words.

Worksheets are participative as they are hands on.This is a classifying as an essential skill worksheet. Students cut and paste the activities that are done in any given part of the day. After the students finish, ask questions.

Students: I brush my teeth!

Students have to use their thinking skills to complete the worksheet and practice core vocabulary. The Worksheet set is a linked language review of the new vocabulary(Routine Verbs) with the rooms in the house that they already know.

They have to think which action is done in which room of the house. Give the students the 3 rooms in the house worksheets. Dictate the color of each room.
Teacher: Color the bathroom blue!
Hand in the routine cards, print a set of each group of four students and have them pick a routine and glue in the corresponding room.

Have the students describe the location of people in the house:Daddy is in the bathroom.

Worksheets let you cover more topics that your textbook is allowing. In this case students can review counting along with other vocabulary, such as: toothbrush, brush, soap,hair, face,breakfast, lunch, dinner and more.
Teacher: Look at the brushes. Count how many brushes you can see. Color the brushes blue
.

Teacher: How many toothbrushes are there?
Students: seven!

Some Routine Unit worksheets can be done with the parents if needed. Easy matching activity to do. The activity involves coloring a very hands-on learning opportunities.
