Practice fruit and vegetables vocabulary through creative hands-on learning with these Fruit and Vegetables Crafts and Holiday Activities for preschool and kindergarten English language learners. Fruit and Vegetable Classroom AWARD

 Print the apples onto construction paper, cut a slit  in the middle to place a bendable straw through and after each student can name all the fruit and vegetables words  hand it in. At this point of the unit, students should be able to pronounce these simple sentences.

Teacher: What fruit is this? Students: an apple!

Fruit and Vegetable cardigan Wearable  Craft

 I made the fruit and veggies out of fun foam. Cut a small slit in the middle of each fruit or vegetable y and pass it through the button. Wear it for your online lesson or in class.

Stuffed Fruit and Vegetable Craft

Make stuffed fruit and vegetables. They can be used to play games.

Fruit and Vegetables Shopping Bag Role Play

Print the bag onto white or colored paper. Have the students color the dots in a pattern. Cut and paste the bag template onto a paper bag . You can do role play as if buying fruit or vegetables.  Or play throw the fruit or vegetable into the bag.

A simple and easy activity for the reviewing the emotions. Just print the mats, place into a clear plastic sheet and have the students draw the emotions using the dry erase markers.

Fruit and Vegetables Interactive Shapes File folder Game

Every unit includes a fun Shapes Review to reinforce vocabulary while revisiting basic shapes. 

Simply print the templates and glue the picture cards onto a large piece of cardboard or poster board to create a durable classroom game. Play sequence: tell the students that they will place the cards on the table in the order that you say.  Teacher: banana, onion, apple, potato.

Fine Motor Skills with Healthy Food Vocabulary

 I made a small box out of a cereal box. I added a pretty paper on the front and some fruit fun foam. Open a hole on each card and add a piece of yarn to each card. Students pull a yarn and see which fruit or vegetable comes up and then names it.

 

Set 2 of tracing worksheets for fruit and vegetables vocabulary.

Have the students trace along the dotted lines and color the fruit and vegetables. Ask questions:

Teacher: Find the Apple. What color is the Apple?

Students: red!

Say a color and the students say what it is.

Teacher: orange!

Students: orange and carrot.

Students can then cut all the items and write the word using fun foam letters.

Family Members eat fruit and Vegetables worksheet.
Have the students name the family members. Tell the students that they are hungry and that they have to feed them by drawing  the fruit or vegetable they hear.
Teacher: Point to Mommy. She likes apples!  Draw an apple.
You might want to draw your own examples for the student to follow.
 

Face and Fruit/Vegetables Worksheets.
Have the students review the words boy and girl. Tell the students that they will complete the face of the boy or girl with fruit according to the fruit template. They can make their own combination.
When done, have them show their boy or girl and point to the parts of the face.
Student: eyes, nose, mouth!

Review  the adjectives big and small worksheet 

Students should distinguish size.
Make a mobile using the big and small pictures from the worksheet.
Ask questions: Is this orange big or small?
Students: It's big!

Counting Fruit and Vegetables Activities

Use this worksheet to review the numbers with fruit and vegetables. Have the students count all the fruit and vegetables. It’s just a cut and paste activity for describing quantity.
Have the students count the fruit and vegetables.
Students: five tomatoes!

Teacher: How many apples are there?

Students:seven!

If your students are more advanced, ask questions with There is/are. 

Teacher: Are there any bananas?

Students: No, there aren't.

More worksheets to use as a listening number apple review. Dictate the color of each apple:  Teacher: Number one is green! . Then have the students cut and paste the number word.

Ask questions using the worksheets.

Another worksheet to review the numbers 1 to 5 inside a carrot, perfect for the very little ones in your class. Students can color the numbers how they wish or just dictate the color of eah number.

Teacher: Number  one is purple! 

Ask questions about the numbers. Take a look!

Another set of worksheets for counting and matching quantities of bananas to the number.

A similar set of worksheets is for matching numbers to the quantities of apples on a wagon.

Even more counting with this unit. This set of worksheets are empty baskets where students will draw the apples that match the number.

The same activity for counting are included with worksheets for bananas, pears and oranges.

And I wouldn’t miss the counting the vegetables worksheets.

Fruit and Vegetables Matching Worksheets

Use this worksheet with students that are ready to write.It is for tracing the word and then cut and paste where it belongs.

Fruit and vegetable shadow matching worksheet!

All kids love color by number, use it for homework or for extra practice with the colors.

There is a set of flashcards to go with the worksheet. Students will identify and describe the school supplies that each apple has.

 Review the classroom objects with the worksheet.Ask questions: 

What does the green girl apple have?

Students: a pencil!

Practice Emotions with Fruit and Vegetables

Review the emotions: happy,sad and angry with the apple and pear worksheets.  Print the worksheets for your students to color as in the colored cards that you have, the apples come in 3 colors and the epars in two. After they are done coloring, play BINGO! with your colored cards.

Sorting worksheets for fruit and vegetables 

Students will fill the baskets as it corresponds just as you did with the cutouts. Have the children cut and paste the fruit and vegetable to their corresponding basket.

Fruit and Vegetables Shapes Sorting Worksheets

Help your students review fruit and vegetable vocabulary while practicing the four basic shapes: circle, square, rectangle, and triangle.

Students begin by coloring the fruit and vegetable pictures. Next, they cut out the shape cards and identify each shape. Finally, they sort and glue the pictures under the correct shape heading on the sorting worksheets.

This hands-on activity develops shape recognition, fine motor skills, scissor skills, and vocabulary practice in an engaging way. It is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, and ESL/EFL learners who are learning shapes and food vocabulary at the same time.
