Insects Unit Resource

These Insects Flashcards for Kindergarten ESL are designed to help students learn and recognize common insect vocabulary such as butterfly, bee, ant, and ladybug through engaging and visual activities.  These flashcards are not meant to be used alone—they are part of a complete insects unit, guiding students from vocabulary recognition to full language use.

INTRODUCING INSECTS VOCABULARY

Practice the flashcards as much as you can to ensure that your students can identify and name them all. This is the first step where students connect words with meaning.
Place several Insects flashcards on the board and ask students: What can you see? using the magnifying glass. I made them using contact paper on both sides of the templates.
Have the students count the spots on the ladybug, or the dots on the moth.
