Jellyfish at School

This resource is included in Sea Unit for Kindergarten-Holistic English Series #28 at this link:

I love to cross the different themes to provide opportunities for reinforcement of key vocabulary from another unit. Integrating the school unit either the sea unit keep the curriculum dynamic, fun and engaging for your young learners.

Start by printing your Jellyfish at school flashcards to build more vocabulary and overall learning.

Ask your students what each jellyfish has and write the school word on the board.

Point and speak. I made this pointer with a fun foam piece that I had.
Ask questions: What’s this?
Students: It’s a jellyfish.
Teacher: What color is the jellyfish?
Students: It’s yellow.
Teacher: What does the jellyfish have?
Students: a crayon.

Here's the video with the speaking part:

Small cards with Jellyfish at School. Use these for various interactive activities. Here is one in which students will match the school objects to the ones the jellyfish have.

Teacher: pencil! Find the jellyfish with a pencil.

Student: The purple jellyfish has a yellow pencil!  Students will place a fun foam piece to identify and cover the small card.

A video to see how to use the find and match:

Four worksheets to do a color by the jellyfish. There are short phrases with the instructions in English, reinforcing vocabulary and language comprehension.

Pocket charts. Use the resource to track student achievements. Have them match the school item word to the school item that the jellyfish has in each picture.

Provide tailored learning as creating sentences for students that are ready,

Or model  several sentences for your students to create their own using the pocket charts cards and use their creativity.

Printable book. Making books individually or in groups will allow students to express their creativity even though there is a short paragraph with the colors. But, provide an outlet for them to complete the drawing as coloring the ocean and more items to each page.  They can also say more sentences to write to the story.
