The Halloween Holiday is included in this resource.
Halloween emotions Flashcards. There is a set of several Halloween characters in happy, sad and angry faces. Use them to decorate and students can easily remember all the new vocabulary. Drill the Halloween emotions as much as you can.
I always include a set of small cards. Play a game by handing in all the small cards and having the students make groups by sorting the cards into characters or emotions. Designate a place for all the happy, sad and angry characters. At your signal students run to place their Halloween card.
Teacher: All the happy Halloween characters cards. Here!!!
A set of Halloween emotions cutouts is included. I would suggest that you make puppets. On idea is that you hand in all the puppets and then start calling them.
Teacher: Where is the happy Vampire? Come here!!
Sorting can be fun. I used 3 Halloween paper
plates and added the emotions words on each one. Students can start sorting and
saying where each characters belongs: A happy ghost!
I saw another sorting idea on Pinterest and
gave it a try, instead of using plastic spoons I had some recycled plastic knives.
I glued the cutout on each knife. I placed the devil and the emotion word on
each candy holder that I had.
Let’s make patterns strips of paper. It can be all with
the same emotions: sad devil, sad Zombie, sad
ghost, sad candy corn.
It can be the same character in different emotion: a happy werewolf, a
sad werewolf, an angry werewolf.
If you cut each item in two in different positions, you have a big Halloween puzzle for your students.
Halloween Worksheets. Teachers can use the worksheets for speaking. When the worksheets are ready have the students point and name each character.
Students: an angry Zombie! A happy ghost! A sad Mummy!
Playing Halloween Emotions Bingo can be a good way to assess their knowledge on the unit. Print the cards and templates to hand in to each group of five students. Have the students glue their favorite characters onto each square. Start calling Bingo!
Teacher: an angry Frankenstein!
The Bingo template works for sorting. Students can sort the cards onto the mat into emotions as they say the phrase.
Students: a happy ghost!
