EYE Monsters for the Face Unit to teach Kindergarten ELL

Here are some teaching tips for these cute Monsters with eyes using the numbers between 1 and 10. It also gives the opportunity to review the colors. It is also a mean for the students to meet known vocabulary in a new context.

 Print the set of big face Unit flashcards and have your students use them in a creative way.

Place the flashcards on the board and have the students count the eyes on each monster and write the number next to it.

There are small cards for an easier printing option. Critical thinking will have the students match the number word to the eyes on each monster.

This is a set of worksheets that can be converted into a file folder game. Students will read the color of each monster and color accordingly. Then, cut the numbers template and match to each amount of eyes of the monsters.

A number matching game. I placed an opened clip behind each monster and used them to play the game as standing monsters.

And as a wrap up activity use the pocket chart cards. Review the colors.

And count the eyes on each Monster.
