Here are some teaching tips for the Presentation part of the
lesson plan and you will use flashcards, small cards and cutouts!! There are 3 sets of flashcards for introducing children to What do we look like?.
Set 1. Parts of the face flashcards that include: face, eyes, nose, head, mouth, ears
After introducing the parts of
face, use the flashcards for graphing the hair color and the eye color. I added
the girl’s and the boy’s hair color.
Use the eyes flashcards to make a graph, but you can also do the hair graph.Use the eyes worksheets to complete the graph on the board.
Students say a sentence when they place the eyes on the graph.
I have green eyes.
Do the same graph but with the hair color. Start with yourself.
Teacher: I have brown hair.
Set 2. Children and the face flashcards, to recognize the differences in people such as in boy and girl. Review the parts of the face
by pointing to each part of one the kid’s face. You can also use these flashcards for sorting hair color. Place the flashcards all over the classroom and have the students run to the hair color that matches their own. Count how many eyes the children have.
Teacher: He has two eyes. How many noses does he have?
Students: He has one nose.
Use the flashcards to play the guess who game. Place the flashcards on the board in random order. Describe a child in any flashcard. The students either name the person or point to the corresponding flashcard.
The flashcards are big enough for online teaching, even though I made a smaller set of cards.

Set 3.Monsters and the face flashcards.

Teacher:
Is there a nose?
Students:
no!

Face unit Commands Flashcards. Introduce the commands Touch!, smile! or Concepts of Open! Close!
Teacher: Close your eyes!
Open your mouth!
Show the students the flashcard and have them use their hand as in the flashcard and repeat the command or the new structure. Teacher: Touch your mouth!
You can also introduce the imperative with Don't.
Teacher: Don't touch your nose.
Review the word: Point! Point to your ears.
Face unit Small cards. I am adding the same face flashcards in
4 in one page cards for printing purpose and for online teaching. Give the students a small piece of paper and have them draw
a part of the face.
Teacher: brown eyes.
Show your small flashcard and see if they did it right. This can be done for online teaching.
Face Unit Cutouts. Use these to review the parts of the face.Students should identify the position of the facial features. Place them on top of your own face parts.I did the activity for online teaching and the size was right. Students can say the phrase: Look! My eyes!
The video:
Another activity for the parts of the face.
Students can also name their parts of the face using the cutouts.
Student: I have blue eyes!
Make a set of puppets for so many activities.Just. Print the templates and decorate the puppets. Ask questions:
What color is his face?
Students:purple!
What color are his eyes?
Students:red.
Feed me box and the Cutouts. Use the cutouts to
review the parts of the face. I made mine using the b&w template. I printed
it onto colored pink paper. I added hair and some stickers that I had. I placed
everything on a recycled box. Teacher: Feed the nose to the pink monster!
Students: Feed the mouth to the pink monster.
