This part of the Beach Unit focuses on the wrap-up stage of the lesson, where students review vocabulary through a combination of reading and hands-on creativity. By using a printable book and a craft activity, young English Language Learners can reinforce beach vocabulary while developing speaking and comprehension skills in a fun and meaningful way.
Beach Unit Books.
Students can identify the clothes the pigs are wearing at the beach. Just print the book,
assemble and read to your students. Have the cutouts ready and a flannel board
ready. I added Velcro piece behind each pig and the beach items. Students will
add the pig cutouts as you name them. They can also retell the story. I made my
flannel board using a floor cleaning cloth. Students can start recognizing words and grammar points. Have them look through the book individually.
Beach Unit Craft
I
know, you just think about the mess you will have at the end of the activity, but let's stimulate creativity.
But, students will be actually listening to your directions, and using their
imagination and creativity to complete their picture. Students will color, cut
and glue the pieces of the beach scene. I used a foam try from the supermarket.
