Small Cards for the Circus Unit. They can also be used for vocabulary presentation.
Here are some great ideas for your lesson planning!
I love that the mini flashcards can be hold in the
student’s little hands making them useful for a wider range of activities. Keep
the use of the small cards dynamic and playful to produce language even when
teaching online.
Display the Circus Unit small
cards on a table. The students either take or leave
the card if they can identify the card.
Student: train!
Teacher: Great! Take the train card.
Ask questions about people using Who?
Who is this?
Studnets: The clown!
Plan on an entertaining activity for your preschool students. Glue
each small card onto a ribbon. Place the long ribbon of small cards into a hat.
Start pulling the ribbon as students will name each one coming out just as the
magicians do.
Student: hat! zebras! Clown!
I found this game called The Tower Game. It's a vocabulary game for kids.Stuents will develop the ability to effectively listen to the words said and speak as they name the word on the card.
I grabbed some
small cups that I had left over from a party but you can use recycled yogurt
cups. Students will name a small card and place on a cup and so on until it
falls and then start it again. It will be another balancing act for the circus
unit.
Sort the small cards by
color helps with visual perception and memorization skills. Students are always
naturally engaged in this kind of activity.
