The resource will focus on an image of a clown juggling. Make counting practice interactive with the activities. Teachers can introduce new vocabulary words like "juggle," and review "clown," and "ball," while also using terms like "count," promoting both mathematical and everyday vocabulary.
By counting the balls, students can practice their
counting in a hands-on way. Reading the written number words on the flashcards
strengthens literacy skills. Print and create a big reader circus ball using
the template.
Teacher: What number is it?
Students: eight!
Flashcards are great for reviewing the numbers 1 to 10
on the board. Place the flashcards in random order. Have the learners come and write
the numeral next to each one.
Play a race game. Divide the class into two teams. Say
a number from 1 to 10. The first student from each team will run to the board and
slap the flashcard as they say the number. The team will win a point as they
have participated correctly.
Writing number words using the small cards and plastic plates along whiteboard markers encourages students to focus on spelling patterns and sounds.
Enhance Fine Motor Skills using play dough. This
supports the development of fine motor skills needed for writing. Have the students
make balls with play dough to match to the picture. Ask questions: How
many balls are there?
Student: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven!
Use this worksheet to have learners follow
spoken instructions. They should listen carefully and understand directions,
which is essential for language development. Listening to the words and coloring
helps students recognize the vocabulary.
Teacher: Number five is yellow.
This worksheet set reinforces number recognition by
connecting numerals with quantities and words.
There are cut-out balls to place in the clown’s
hands. It allows young learners to develop their fine motor skills, which is
essential for writing and other tasks.
Games encourage students to interact and communicate with their peers as they
match numbers, numerals and words.
Use the cards from the game to play Throw the Bean
Bag!
Make puppets using all the cards and play even
more games.
