Transportation Unit Worksheets for Kindergarten English Language Learners

·      Use the worksheets for easy assessment. Students can complete the worksheet on their own instead of handing in a test at this age. Also evaluate the ability to follow directions to complete the work.

 There is a worksheet for drawing the favorite vehicle.

These are the vocabulary worksheets that can be turned into the student's own flashcards for many activities and games.

Students can sort the transportation flashcards by color. Matching is an essential skill to include in your lesson plan.

   Send the worksheets home for the parents to see what their children are working on. This set of coloring  by number worksheets are easy for the parents to help out.

Use the worksheets in your English Classroom to review previous concepts, such as numbers. Students will identify and sequence the numbers 1 to 10 using the cars.
Dictate the color of each car.
Teacher: Find car number nine! Color it yellow.
After all the cars are colored, have the students cut all the numbers words and glue onto each one.

Make a street lane and place all the cars previously cut in a number sequence. Say a color and the students say the car number and then do the opposite. Give the students the opportunity to use scissors and glue.

Use the file folder game and have the students use their cars to play.The goal is to classify the cars by color.

Play match using the cars cutouts and the number words.

Number recognition in a school bus worksheet. Students will listen and color the number how you say.

   Take advantage of the fun worksheets. This is a set of 3 worksheets. Students will color the vehicles as you dictate them.

Teacher: Color the plane purple!
Then, they will cut the vehicles and glue them to where they belong, the land, water or air.

Or, have the students play with the vehicles. Cut a slit into the worksheet page. Attach a craft stick to each vehicle and have the students move the vehicle as they say the word.

   Pick the best worksheet for the students in front of you, like if you need a quiet activity after a very noisy one. This is a listen and color one.

Teacher: Find the school bus! Color it yellow.

     Trace the transportation vehicles worksheets. Then, turn them into puppets by having students cut and glue each vehicle onto toilet paper roll. Play Show me!
Teacher: Show me the car! What color is the car?
Students: orange!

This unit is appropriate to introduce the concepts of the adjectives big and small, long and short. Students will distinguish between left and right.

      Love the worksheets that lead into more listening. Students can read the color word and color each train car and then cut the pieces to make a long train. Have the students play as you dictate the order of all the cars. Students can help into giving the directions.

     The worksheets should be completed with the student’s creativity in mind. Do the listen and color activity and then make an accordion book.
