Beach Unit Books.

Students can identify the clothes the pigs are wearing at the beach. Just print the book, assemble and read to your students. Have the cutouts ready and a flannel board ready. I added Velcro piece behind each pig and the beach items. Students will add the pig cutouts as you name them. They can also retell the story. I made my flannel board using a floor cleaning cloth. Students can start recognizing words and grammar points. Have them look through the book individually.

Beach Unit Craft. I know, you just think about the mess you will have at the end of the activity, but let's stimulate creativity. But, students will be actually listening to your directions, and using their imagination and creativity to complete their picture. Students will color, cut and glue the pieces of the beach scene. I used a foam try from the supermarket.

Beach Unit Games for Kindergarten ESL

Beach Unit Domino will help the students learn the new vocabulary. Watch as they will play so concentrated and understand the simple instructions that you gave for playing the game.

You might have seen the parking lot domino activity. Here is my idea on how to do it. There is a domino template which I used to draw all the domino parking lot. Then, I used the images templates to cut and glue to complete the parking space. Then, students just have to find the parking lot for each domino tile and say where they are parking the tile.

Beach Unit Bingo. Students will identify the beach items and find the match on their worksheet template. Insist with your students that only 6 colors are playing as in the teacher’s calling cards. They have to color each item in those 6 colors. This kind of bingo can be used for picture-telling. They will have to use their vision to see what they are listening to and usually they will speak about it, if they have or not.

Beach Unit game board. When you play this kind of game in class, it will be maybe one of the very few times your students will have the opportunity to play.

Beach Unit Half Card Game. This is a matching game for improving the student’s thinking skills. It can be played as a whole class activity as they walk around the classroom finding a person to complete the card.

Beach Unit Matching games help with visual discrimination as students start counting 1 to 10. Students get to show their knowledge of the numbers 1 to 10.

Students will match the number, the number word and quantity crabs on the sand picture.

Beach Unit Pocket Chart. You can use as portable word display that you can take to every class if you switch classes.

Beach Emotions or Feelings Pattern Cards. Identifying patterns is an essential skill to review within the unit.Placing the cards in a sequence from left to right prepares them for later reading in the same direction.

Printable Beach Unit Worksheets to practice and review the new concepts, the vocabulary items. Simple easy exercises to complete.

This is the vocabulary set of worksheets that can turn into your student’s flashcards. The early literacy skill would be tracing over the beach words.If you cut them in two students can do a matching activity on their table or on the pocket chart.Give students simple instructions as to take care of the pocket chart and how to use it.

 Beach day Worksheets are still a learning tool for teaching Presachool and kindergarten. This worksheet is for and coloring decorating as the student’s creativity is up to.  Then, they can cut them and display around the classroom for a Beach feeling.

What about the swimwear for the beach? There is a set of worksheets for the swimwear for boy and girl as a clothes theme activity.

Students will decorate their swimsuit as they wish, giving a personal touch to this worksheet.

Students can cut their swimwear and hang it up on a  clothesline in the classroom as decoration.

The worksheets are easy for the parents to guide their kid to completing them. Use these to consolidate main numeracy skills in English. Students will identify the numbers 1 to 10. Just matching the numbers to the quantities in each set. You can also choose magnetic numbers. Use questions words: How MANY?

Teacher: How many crabs are here?

Students: six!

Many things to do with these worksheets. Students can cut the crab sets and the numbers and play a matching game with their peers.

Have your learners describe each match, take a look!

Students can also place the numbers in a numerical sequence on the board or on the table.

You can write the number words on small cards for the students to add to each numerical item.

Students will identify the size. Review the concept of Big and small beach items with this set of worksheets. Have them follow directions as they  complete the worksheet coloring the big and small bucket, sunglasses and ball, besides coloring the path lines. Then, they cut all the items and sort them on the other worksheet.

Effective literacy skills are importante to establish in an English learning environment. As with the presentation of the Beach Flashcards, we  sorted them into nature and things, here is a set of worksheets to reinforce the concept.

Students will color the items and then cut and paste them where they belong.

Ask questions: What is the frog doing?

Students: It's surfing!

Do the listen and color activity with the worksheets.

There is a beach scene worksheets for the students to draw themselves at the beach and what think that michgt see when they go there. They can also glue a picture of them at the beach.

Beach Unit Cutouts for Kindergarten ESL

This blog post will be dedicated to the printable Cutouts that come in the resource for creating games and activities for this specific vacation place. They all show dotted lines for easy cutting.

ESL Beach vocabulary cutouts. The Beach scene helps students see all the vocabulary words in a context. Students will be able to identify and describe  each beach colorful object and also where the objects are using prepositions. 

Teacher: What is this?
Students: It's a tree.

Create a Beach Scene. I wrapped the Styrofoam with brown and blue construction paper to make it look like sand and water. This is the first part where I placed all the items that can be found at the beach. This is a fun tool to reinforce the new words.

Ask questions: How many crabs are there?
Students: two!

Review other units.

Teacher: How's the weather?

Students: It's sunny.

Ask questions using prepositions.

Teacher: Where is the umbrella?

Students: It's on the sand.

Then, I had the next part where I added all the children. Ask questions to describe ongoing actions: What is he doing?

Students: He is building a sandcastle!

Ask about the clothes and have the students describe the location. 

Teacher: What is the girl wearing?
Students: a swimsuit!

Teacher: Where is the sunhat?
Students: It's next to the sun block.

A game that I adapted and named it the Shark Game. I am sure that it will capture your students' attention. Print the sharks and cut along the lines. Put the cutouts that you want your students to identify in a recycled kleenex box along the sharks. tell the students that they win a point if they cna name the cutout and if they get teh shark comes they lose the game. The idea is to avoid to get the shark.

Feed me boxes are great for many activities using the beach cutouts.This is a great communication skills game. Cut along the dotted lines and glue onto a box, I used a juice box this time.Show the beach items cututs one at a time and ask: What is this?

Students: sun block!

Teacher: Feed the sun block to the sandcastle!

Another activity to use with the feed me boxes. Print the bucket and glue it onto a paper lunch bag. Print the shells template as many as you need for the students to count. Use the numbers from the Beach Number game.
