Here are several games that you can plan at least for each class that you have with your students to reinforce the vocabulary and the grammar structures taught. Games work well with mixed ability classes.

Insects Unit Puzzles. Increase vocabulary as the students play with the easy puzzles, ask them about the shape of the puzzle. It will increase the command of the language.
Teacher: Look! What shape is it ?
Students: a circle!
As students finish their puzzle they name the insect. Students: It’s a ladybug!

·       Insects Unit Dominoes are patterns to be discovered by your students. The core vocabulary was covered within the unit.

·       Insects Unit Bingo for listening and speaking as a student can be a caller and the class has to listen to each word or phrase and look it up on their card and repeat the phrase. The student's board comes in B/W for them to color in any of colors of the teacher's calling cards that you select. Cut all your cards, put them in a bag and start playing. You can pull out this game over and over again atany other lesson that might need a fun game to play.

The file folder game is another practicing tool. It is usually matching and it can be done individually or in a group. Use the fly swatter for fun.
Teacher: What can you see?
Students: I can see a butterfly!

This other file folder game is more matching with phrases and adapt it according to the age of your students.

·       A simple Insects game board helps students interact in a friendly way as they identify the animals and do a little counting developing the hand-eye coordination.

·      Insects Half-Card games are fun and engaging keeping students focused. Hand in one half to each student and have them walk around finding a student with and another half to complete the insect.

·       Insects Unit Pocket charts are simple visual aids for the students to match the vocabulary words and pictures.
