Pets Unit Crafts will bring cognitive development to your students and agility for the future activities in your class. Students will inmediately engage with all the craft materials and instructions.

I love to see sun catchers on social media that I had to make one for the bird.

With the cute dogs make a door hanger with the student’s name.

Pets Unit Rewards will definitely reinforce good behavior in your class but always state clearly the behavior that you want to encourage in class. It can be completing the assign work or to speak in English in class.   I made 8 pets cards. You can write on the card the name of the student and make a chart in class. You can also hand in the pet to the student in each class and have them collect the pets, as you say: Carlos, this is your pet for today because you did a good job in class today.

A printable and easy Number Matching card Game.

And for extra practice use these two Easter Bunnies worksheets.Dictate the color of each number quantity of bunnies.

Teacher: Find number one! Color the bunny blue.

After the worksheets are done, cut the worksheets into stripes and have the students order the bunnies in number sequence.

HOLIDAYS: Christmas

Just a short printable book about a Christmas Frog. Use the colored version or the coloring one. Students can add wiggly eyes, glitter and any other embellishments.

Pets Unit Book. Use this printable book to stimulate the pets vocabulary along with print knowledge that might differ depending on the native language of your students. Have your students learn to read high frequency words, which is like . Having their book to take home to reread with the parents will help with the overall oral language development. Reading is another linguistic competence to develop along the unit.

There are sets of pages. One is all done just to color. The other one is cut and paste the food that pets eat.

Games:

Pets Unit BINGO! This is a teaching tool that you can use many times in your class, as you can print many student’s templates or save the template for other lessons. There are 10 student's bingo cards. Print the teacher’s calling cards double and you have a memory game.

Pets unit Game Board. Play is learning. Engage your students with this hands on game. Print a letter size game or print the two parts of the game board to have a bigger one depending on your classroom.

Pets unit Domino will make your students pay attention in order to win working on their visual perception.

File Folder Games are for extra review. If you have a student that finishes the assigned activity on the textbook before the rest of the class or is not really engaged, pull out the file folder to keep that student active in learning. 

There are 6 colored doghouses and a small printable worksheet for the students to color. They will cut the dogs and match them to the corresponding house.

This set of printable pets and numbers game is aimed to help your students understand the one-to-one correspondence in English.

Another file folder game is this one with frogs! There is a number word mat and frog cards to match to the words.

Or cut up the words and the numbers and you have a card matching number game.

Use the number mat and match the number words cards. As you can see different ways to review the number s 1 to 10 with these frogs.

More animals to do the same matching activity. Counting the fish in the fishbowls.

Then, the birds with a singing note to count.

This file folder game set is with matching colors to develop vocabulary. This is the dog version.

 and the rabbit version! There are also parrots and snakes in different colors to matching with the color word.

Pets Unit Pocket charts can be used individually, with another classmates or with you. Even spelling can be started.

Dogs Counting mats. They are perfect to review numbers 1 to 10. You can use play dough bones made by your students or just print the ones I have ready.

Print the mats and place them inside a clear plastic sheet. Hand in the counting mats, one to each student in random order and put the bones on a bowl in front of the students. Students will read and say the number on their mats and get the bones to place on the bowl. Students can then trade their mats with another student.

And use the same cards and count fish in a fishbowl.

A simple Pets unit puzzle, take it out and the students work on their own.

The half card game for the pets unit can be used as a puzzle or as a speaking activity. Hand in all half card to the students in random order. Have them walk around asking their classmates for the other half.

I also added the template to complete as a puzzle.

Pets Unit Worksheets for Kindergarten ELA

Most teachers love worksheets to support their teaching. I like them but I am in favor of doing many things with them. I put a lot of thought on the design of the worksheets. These worksheets can be a complement to the textbook that you are using or select the ones that will expand or review this pet unit.

This set of worksheets are intended for the students to trace color, cut and have them as their set of flashcards. Students will be able to say words for naming the pets.

Ask questions: Do you love pets? Do you love dogs?

There are two readers to make using a craft stick.  Place the reader over the face of the pet and the students name that pet. Place the reader over the word and the students identify the word and reads it.

Take a look for speaking!

I love to have the pets in shapes, I used them in flashcards, cutouts and now on the worksheets. I placed mine into a clear plastic folder from the dollar tree store. Dictate to the students what to color, trace, cross out, you name it! Ask students about the pet's home: Look at the rabbits. What's their home? 

Students: It's a cage.

Teacher: trace the rectangle dog! Find the square dog, color the ears. Find the triangle dog, draw the hands.

More worksheets to review the shapes and give them more exposure to the language. Suudents can talk about the shape pets that they just colored.

Student: My bird is a rectangle. It's red.

Pets have a home. This is a cut and paste activity that I extended into a banner.

Worksheets to Review the adjectives of Big and small. Students will sort the pets by size.

The body parts are here as a listening activity.

Teacher: Look at the turtle! Color the legs brown.

Pets Unit Coloring in different worksheets. Students will have to identify the colors.

The concept that pets eat you might have introduced using the flashcards or the feed me game. Here is the worksheet that you can use at the same time. Students will draw the food that each pet eat on the worksheet.

This is a cut and paste and then sorting activity for the emotions. You can use the emotions flashcards to reinforce the concepts on the pets.

Students will count sets of frogs.These two worksheets go along with the same game cards if you want to work with them the same day. When the student finish the worksheets they can cut each frog set and then put them in number order. 

Ask questions: How many frogs are there ?

Students: three!

Teacher: How many frogs do you see here? Let's count!

Students: five! I see five frogs.

Here’s an aquarium to create with the worksheets. Dictate the color of each shape fish. Teacher: Find the triangle fish! Color it orange. Continue with the rest. Then place all the aquariums as door decorations.
