Mind mapping for Preschoolers and Kindergarten children is
fun and easy. I am doing the community helper chef one as the first example. Place the printable chef flashcard in the
middle of the board and ask questions to encourage the recognition of the job of that person:
Teacher: Who is she ?
Students: The chef!
Place the restaurant flashcard of the board, draw an arrow
and ask:
Teacher: What is this ?
Students: a restaurant!
Teacher: The chef works in the
restaurant.
Have the students look around the flashcards set and
select the flashcards that relate to the chef. If not, you show the related
flashcards to the class and place them in a mind mapping way.
Teacher: The chef works in the
restaurant. These are chef’s things: the oven, the cookbook, the bowl, the hat,
the spatula. As you say them point to each
one and mime the use of each one.

more examples on how to create the mind mapping for speaking opportunities for
the little ones.
The doctor flashcards to help drill the pronunciation.
The policeman flashcards for more hands-on activities.
The firefighter. Choose the community helper's hat which is the helmet and the tools that he/she can use.
The pilot.Ask questions:
What transportation do the pilots use?
Students: the plane! The airplane!
The construction worker.
