This is a favorite from my
store. I added more things to the resource. I used the most common words that
appear on the book series. If you would like me to change the words let me know
and I can fix to adjust your needs. Some books go with firefighter, separated
and others joined, while other books go with fireman. These changes can be made
in order to meet your needs.

Let’s
start with the flashcards. I tried to use the
different words used for the same community helper. The file is now separated
to use on electronic devices. I can make your own set of flashcards according
to your needs that your students can download to practice the vocabulary.

Place the flashcards on the board. Add a number cutout
next to each flashcard.
Ask questions:
Teacher: What number is this ?
Students: ONE!
Teacher: Who is she ?
Students: She’s the doctor.
Teacher: Who is number two ?
Students: He’s the policeman.
Place the community helpers
flashcards that you are working with on the board. Then, have the students look
for the objects flashcards that those workers use.
Example: teacher - board
Do the same with the community helper and the place they work.Have the
students match the flashcards.
And relate the community
workers and the transportation they use.
