🎴 Cow Colors Flashcards and small cards Introduction
Students are so
familiar with cows that makes learning this unit easier.
Use Descriptive
Language with the cows flashcards or small cards: It’s a blue
cow.
Throw
a bean bag to the small card. Calling out the color
before throwing the bean bag strengthens verbal skills. Students need to listen
carefully to instructions about which colored cow to aim for: Throw
the bean bag to the purple cow!
This is a hands-on activity where they create a farm scene with the cows. Students read and color the cows.
They just have to cut along the lines and fold the tab. They can
place it on green cardboard to simulate the grass.
Students will review the different parts of a cow's face and body using the worksheets provided in this resource. You an do it as a listen and color activity: Color the cow’s eyes blue!
When the cow is ready, create a mask as the students cut around the cow’s face and add a craft stick.
Group
Activities such as puzzles based on the cows by color will encourage
cooperation and social interaction.
They
can say the sentence: It’s a purple cow!
Play a memory game using puzzles
Students must focus and concentrate to
remember where each piece is located. When students find a match, encourage
them to say the color word out loud, enhancing their speaking skills. Listening
to peers during the game also aids in language acquisition.
Cow Finger puppets
Give each student a finger puppet to do a Show and Tell: This is
my white cow!
Ask: What sound does
the cow make?
Students: moo-moo (moving
the finger puppet)
