Gingerbread Christmas at School for Kindergarten ELL

This resource is included in the School Theme for Kindergarten-Holistic English Resources #3. You can find it here: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/School-Unit-for-Kindergarten-Holistic-English-Series-3-5977653

Gingerbread Christmas flashcards.

Place the flashcards in different parts of the classroom.  Call out the name of the school object that the Gingerbread is holding. The students run and stand under or next to that flashcard. They have to name the object.

Gingerbread Christmas small cards.

They have the perfect size to make the students feel less overwhelmed because of the size, making them a valuable tool for teaching. Use toilet paper rolls for creating a bowling game. It will involve rolling a ball towards the created pins. This kind of game will help in developing hand-eye coordination much needed in the future.

Gingerbread Christmas Worksheets.

Save time during this busy time of the year with these worksheets. Choose the ones that are suitable for your group.

A way to customize the worksheet is by using the pocket charts words to match to each school item.

Reinforce the repetition of the basic school words. Do a listen and circle the words.

Teacher: Circle the marker! Color it blue!

Gingerbread Christmas games.

These games will focus on building new vocabulary in a fun and memorable way during this special season of the year.

Domino is a game that encourages understanding the new school items in a different context. Students will associate the picture to another picture.

Board games add excitement to your language class. Students will enjoy actively playing the game.  Engage your students into moving along the board using a die.

Pocket charts promote interactive learning. Use the cards fir word and picture building.

Gingerbread Christmas printable book.

Wrap it up by making this book with a group of students. They will just do a page and then assemble to take it home to read with parents.

It will work on the comprehension and understanding of the simple text promoting critical thinking.

Have the students color each sight word in a different color for easy recognition as they read.

There is a set of letters for the students to color and write the school items using the gingerbread letters.
