Activity 1-Guess the flashcard
in the folder. Use a recycled folder, glue the sides except one and open small
windows as a see through. Have the students guess which flashcard is in the
folder.
Teacher: Which animal is in the folder?
Students: elephant!
Teacher: NO!!!
Students: hippo!
Teacher: YES!!!
Activity 2- Number
the Zoo Animals small cards. It is a very hands on exploration time. Print the zoo numbers small cards. Hand in a
number to 10 students in random order. Place 10 zoo animal small cards on a
table.
Say
a number and an animal, the student with that number will do the action.
Teacher: Put number 2 on the elephant.
When
all the numbers are placed on the small cards, say a number and the students
will name the zoo animal.
Teacher: Number 7!
Student: zebra!
Do
the opposite.
Place the commands small cards on a path in the
classroom. Play some zoo kind music. Have the students walk next to the card in
the path. When the music stops, each student picks a card and mimics the action
on the card.
Ask questions about abilities. Can the giraffe read?
Activity 4-Guess the card in the envelope. Place
several small cards inside a small envelope. Slowly take a card out and have
the class guess the animal. Students can play in small groups.
