Park Unit Small cards will work great for the little hands as they hold them to play the games
that you set for them. Kids will retain the new playground vocabulary better as they
use the cards.
Review can/can't to express ability. Can he walk in the park?
Ask questions with present continuous: Who is walking?
Students: the boy!
Use the small cards to have the students identify the playground equipment.Write the vocabulary
playground words onto the board or a big cardboard and have the students find
the word to place the small card on.
I saw a similar idea on Pinterest as to make a
T-shirt to display cards. I gave it a try. I got an old black T-shirt, even
though, I think that a green shirt would work better. I glued the cards onto
felt, added Velcro onto each felt piece and onto the T-shirt.
Point to each card and ask questions.
Teacher: What is
this?
Students: It’s a
jungle gym!
Teacher: What
color is it?
Students: It’s
blue and green.
