Use the flashcards to identify the Parts of the Body Unit (head, shoulders, finger, foot, feet, toe, toes, tummy, leg, elbow, knee, arm, body, hand.) Name a flashcard and have the students point to it. The ability to select and point to the words he/she hears will be useful for each and every unit.
Use the Body unit flashcards to review this and these. Students can hear and repeat the sentences as a speaking skill.Teacher: This is my head. These are my hands.
Write the numbers 1, and 10 on the board. Have the students count the body parts and say how many one has, which ones have two and then ten.
Ask questions to sort the flashcards using the verb to be.
Teacher: What is this ?
Students: head!
Teacher: How many heads do we have ?
Students: One!
Then place the head under number one. Continue with the rest of the flashcards. Students can count all the body parts with number 2.
Teacher: one, two. Two feet!
Create a mind map using the flashcards. Place the body flashcard in the middle of the board and some other flashcards in random places. Have the students come to the front and match each body part to the one in the middle as they say the word.
Review numbers. Write the numbers 1 to 5 on the board. Place a flashcard under each number. Ask questions.
Teacher: What number is this ?
Students: one!
Teacher: What is this ?
Students: hair!
Teacher: Number one is the hair.
Practice the colors vocabulary with the body flashcards. Draw color splotches on the board. Place a flashcard under each color splotch. Ask questions.
Teacher: What color is this ?
Students: blue!
Teacher: What are these?
Students: legs!
Use a simple craft stick for the students to point to each body part on the flashcard as you name them.
