Numbers Theme worksheets for Kindergarten EFL

These worksheets are not isolated activities—they are part of a step-by-step ESL system designed to guide students from Presentation (flashcards) to the Practice (these worksheets). In this stage, students begin to interact with numbers actively, reinforcing what they learned during the presentation stage.

 Set 1 of Worksheets

These worksheets are designed to transform into student flashcards and reusable materials. This means students are not just completing a worksheet—they are creating tools they will use again in games and speaking activities later in the unit.

Dictate to the students the color of each number on the card.

 Teacher: Number one is green.

Students can cut the cards and turn them into interactive learning tools, which can be used in games, pair work, and speaking activities throughout the unit.

These worksheets go far beyond coloring—they are designed to support number recognitiom, sequencing  and speaking practice.

 Students can order the numbers, helping them build logical sequencing skills, which are essential before moving into games and speaking tasks in the next stage.

Students can match different numbers using the cutouts. In this case, I also punched circles to create one-to-one correspondence, helping students clearly connect each number with its quantity.

👉 This type of activity is especially powerful for developing visual discrimination and number recognition, as students compare, match, and verify each card and cutout.

Set 2 of worksheets –trace. Students will write the numbers 1 to 10. Have the students trace each number and color as indicated. 

By cutting and manipulating the materials, students become active participants in the learning process.  This hands-on approach is especially important for young learners, as it helps them internalize concepts through action, not just observation. Even better, once the materials are cut, they can be reused in different activities throughout the unit.

I made a stamp using an old cork and a fun foam shape. 

Glue each number onto paper. Use the stamp for the quantity and write the number in words.

Use them as a listening practice .

Teacher: Find number one! Color it purple. 

Tell students to follow the arrow and say what number is next. 

Finally, have the students follow the path and say each number.

Print the tablet template and place it inside a clear plastic sheet. Dictate a number and have the students write it using a whiteboard marker.

Or use the worksheets for more activities, such as matching the numbers. I created toilet paper number puppets, numbers crafts stick puppets. I also used bottle caps.

Use bottle caps to match to each number pompom. I also made toilet paper puppets as I traced the number and glued them. Or maybe you prefer craft stick puppets to play match.
