Halloween Flashcards

Introduce the new Halloween words: bat, witch, Mummy, Ghost, Frankenstein, Dracula. Ask the students  where are the Halloween characters.
Teacher: Where is the ghost?
Students: In the car!
Teacher: What color is the car?
Students: yellow!
Teacher: The ghost is in a yellow car!
Have the students say similar sentences for the rest of the flashcards.

Bowling with Small Cards

Place the small picture cards on binder clips so they can stand upright like bowling pins. Arrange the cards in a row or a triangle on a table or the floor. Students take turns rolling a small ball to knock down the cards. After each roll, they name the Halloween character or vocabulary word on the cards they knocked down. For an extra challenge, students can use the word in a sentence or spell it aloud.

  • Vocabulary Practice: Students simply name the toy.
  • Sentence Practice: Students make a complete sentence using It's a...
  • Question Practice: Ask a partner, "What is it?" before answering.
  • Memory Challenge: Students must remember and repeat the toys from their previous turns.

Perfect to Encourage oral language practice

Halloween Racing Puzzle

This fun 3-piece puzzle activity is perfect for young learners who are developing visual discrimination, fine motor skills, and problem-solving abilities. Children cut out the puzzle pieces, match them correctly, and build each Halloween racer. The colorful characters make the activity engaging while encouraging careful observation and concentration.

Students can work independently, with a partner, or in small groups. Once the puzzles are completed, encourage children to describe the characters, name the Halloween costumes, or create simple stories about the racers. This hands-on activity is an enjoyable way to combine learning and play in your Halloween-themed lessons. πŸŽƒπŸŽ️πŸ‘»
