I am adding worksheets to each unit as they keep students focused on the theme.

·       This is the set of the vocabulary worksheets. Complete them and turn them into flashcards for the students. They can take them home to show their parents what they working on in class. Students can have their own feed me box for either practicing the words or the weather symbols.

The worksheets can be used to assess the students’ progress. This is a weather matching worksheet with a focus on the rays of the sun.
As you have previously taught the numbers, these worksheets students can do individually. There are cutouts with numbers that students can use to match onto every number. The focus is on the plural form.
Ask information questions with How many?
Teacher: How many sunrays?
Students: seven!

·       Worksheets are supposed to be completed in a short period of time and in a fun way. Students can listen as you dictate the facial features or they invent them and then show the class their creation.

·       Weather and clothes Worksheets that involve drawing help with visual analysis and concentrate on what is missing or needs to complete, in this case is to complete the corresponding clothes.

Worksheets are widely used in the English Class for even more practice beyond the activity book. This is a cut and paste activity.

·              Challenge your students to review old concepts. It is a good practice to review previous units such as shapes. These are weather words in shape form.

·       Use the Weather unit cutouts along with the preschool worksheets. Select the worksheet and place the corresponding cutouts face down on the table. A student picks one and says what it is: a yellow raindrop. The group finds the yellow raindrop on the worksheet and traces the word and colors that raindrop.

Weather Unit Cutouts Activities for English Language Learners

The Weather Unit cutouts are not very common to use between English Teachers, but I have seen more teachers use them on Instagram and with great activities. Here are some of mine that you do with my resource or with your own. Cutouts for are hands-on activities, a different kind of visual to add to the lesson plan. The size is perfect for the small hands and for online teaching as well.

Link to the complete resource that comes with a clear guide for the teachers:   https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Weather-Unit-for-Kindergarten-Holistic-English-Series-19-7255772

The students can work in small groups with a set of cutouts if they need extra reinforcement.

This is a fun, hands-on ways for students to reinforce learning. Print the window template onto the hardest cardboard you can and add a craft stick to turn into a puppet. Put the window against any flashcard and ask questions.

Teacher: What’s the weather like?
Students: It’s rainy!

Make your own window!

Review the emotions of each weather symbol. This is and i
nteractive way to act out weather words and strengthen comprehension
I wrote a phrase on a cardboard word strip for the students to match to each cutout. Students will understand the face language for each feeling.
Teacher: How does the sun feel?
Students: happy!

Emotions and weather cutouts activity

My version.

Don’t let students forget previous concepts or vocabulary. Review for the retention of knowledge. Have the students place the numbers in order on the wall or floor. Your students or you can write the number word on a post it and have them match to each cutout. Each number can be covered with contact paper so students can write over the number and draw the amount of snowflakes on each one.

Watch!

The Weather flashcards can be used to match with the cutouts. Here is my example with number five and the five snowflakes cutouts. Use Howm many? for quantity recognition.
Teacher: How many snowflakes are there?
Students: five!

Weather flashcards Numbers 1 to 10

Save prep time with ready-to-use material and print the weather headers to for the students to match the cutouts as they connect to the weather symbols. This kind of activity helps retain the new vocabulary.

Weather Words puzzles strips will give your students a brain booster. Students can use the word strips from the cutouts above to help recognize the letters for each word. Fine motor development and hands-on activity will be the added benefit of this kind of game.

Weather Unit Puzzle. Use the cutouts to make puzzles. Place them onto a set of craft sticks. Use white glue to cover the entire cutouts as in decoupage. Separate the craft sticks and have the students turn the craft sticks patiently to complete a weather symbol.

Clothes and the weather. Students can describe the weather condition and what someone is wearing.Place the weather header cards on different cardboards mats. Have the students sort the weather clothes cutouts according to the weather.

Sorting is a skill that should be covered in the English class as students learn how to classify the Weather unit cutouts into any category. I sorted them into colors. I made a grid using duct tape onto a big cardboard. Distinguishing colors is another visual discrimination skill to develop with your students.
